EurAsEc lifts 34% duty on railcar wheels from Ukraine from Friday

MOSCOW, Jan 21 (PRIME) -- The Eurasian Economic Commission (EurAsEc) has abandoned a 34.22% duty on railcar wheels from Ukraine from Friday, the authority said in a statement on Thursday.

"The anti-dumping measure against railcar wheels from Ukraine is abolished from January 22, 2021. The measure in the form of an antidumping duty was introduced for five years," the statement read.

The duty was introduced on January 22, 2016 to protect the Eurasian Economic Union products from unfair competition. In 2018, the duty rose to 34.22% of the customs price from 4.75%. The duty was suspended from August 25, 2019 until June 1, 2020.
